I have long been a fan of the French singer Charles Trenet (La Mer, Boum, etc), but it was only this evening that I found out he was gay. Classic FM also considers him Jewish, which wikipedia argues against, which is à propos of nothing until you wonder how he survived the Second World War in occupied France.

Frankly, we think such laws are silly. They do young people more harm than good. How can you possibly ask questions on a gay forum without coming out to your parents if you need consent?
