These padlocks are locked onto a grill on the railway bridge across the Rhine at Cologne and then the keys are thrown into the river to symbolise the eternal love of those named. Closer inspection will reveal that these are all boys' names. I have never seen this done in Germany before, but have seen it on bridges over water in Latvia.

Frankly, we think such laws are silly. They do young people more harm than good. How can you possibly ask questions on a gay forum without coming out to your parents if you need consent?
