Rachel Maddow is one of the few US presenters I have found respect for, not simply because she happens to be gay. I know we are resistant, at times, to links to news articles, but this article at 365gay.com has two videos in it, under Uganda Be Kidding Me, that I commend to you. Both are about the Ex Gay Movement:

Frankly, we think such laws are silly. They do young people more harm than good. How can you possibly ask questions on a gay forum without coming out to your parents if you need consent?
