I noticed a comment in a newspaper article that had nothing whatsoever to do with gays or even psychiatric treatment in general. The comment was simple: "Hatred is learned: it can be unlearned."
It struck me that this is a wonderful riposte to all those who claim that reparative treatment (of any kind) should be attempted on gays and lesbians. Rather than trying to teach gays how to be str8 their time would be better spent on themselves, unlearning all the hate that underlies their attitude to homosexuality.
Just a thought I thought I'd share.

The paradox has often been noted that the United States, founded in secularism, is now the most religiose country in Christendom, while England, with an established church headed by its constitutional monarch, is among the least. (Richard Dawkins, 2006)
