Needless to say the victim is horribly upset that this has become a public issue, he has self esteem issues. This wasn't gay bashing, just a sick and senseless attack on a smaller boy. The police have charged the adults with child endangerment and assault, two felony crimes.
Since the assault took place in New Hampshire about the only good to come from this is that the state has strong hate crimes laws, and I quote from that very law about the penalties that may be applied during sentencing: If the assailant "Has committed an offense involving the use of force against a person with the intention of taking advantage of the victim's age or physical disability."
The kick here is that this allows a judge and jury to add 10 to 30 years to the crime...I sincerely hope they do. Otherwise, I wouldn't object to an immediate castration either. Or maybe a tatoo on the forehead that says "Bully", and then 30 years in prison. >

Age appears to be best in four things; old wood best to burn, old wine to drink, old friends to trust, and old authors to read. (Sir Francis Bacon 1561-1626)
