Yet another example of the madness sweeping the fabric of American culture, and all too likely to be unleashed elsewhere if those wishing to impose their agenda on others gets their way.
From this evening, again at netscape.aol.com:
'I [Heart] Boobies' Bracelets Cause Stir in High Schools
What disturbs me most about incidents like this, and the fervent who react strongly about them, is that it fails to take in to account the daily onslaught of images, campaigns and messages that as little as ten-years ago could never, ever, have made it into mainstream media at all.
Simply but one more example of a well-intended awareness programme hijacked at the alter of another's skewed moral attitude. Rather than reinforce and educate about the true (and intended) purpose of these bracelets, when issues and questions arose, the School Boards once again kowtow to the morally repressed and impotent; but, still and all nightly we are subjected to condom manufacturers all but rolling the sheath down an erect penis in living-rooms nationwide, companies extolling the benefits of feminine hygiene sprays, deodorants and douches in lieu of daily bathing practices, not to forget, my all-time favourite "Bob" regaling us with his tales about the virtues of "natural male enhancement"; and so many others, many of which I'm certain have entertained and amused us, whereas more still have made us simply want to throw up.
Is this nonsense ever going to come to an end? Apparently not.
