Gay-bashing front-page only when by straight white males? [message #64319]

I read an article this morning that states "Gay-bashing is front-page news only when it’s committed by a straight, white male." I never quite thought about that before, but now that I have, it seems to be true. Almost everything we read about such bullying and gay-bashing is committed by straight white males. Any opinions?
