Recently, I've been reading some gay fiction on Kindle, and 2 of the best I've found recently are actually by women. I'm sure a lot of readers here are familiar with the gay classic The Front Runner, by Patricia Nell Warren, a bok written in 1974. In that book, she acurately captured the feelings of male attraction but pretty much avoided anything terribly erotic (which was probably a good idea back then, due to different pornography laws back then), but it was considered one of the best of the genre in the period.
The 2 books I've read recently are Fourteen Summers, by Quinn Anderson, and The Story of Us, by Barbara Ellsworth. Both books are engaging reads, with interesting characters, believable plotlines, relationship dynamics, drama, desire, lust, and even ......HOT SEX SCENES. I was actually quite surprised as to the level of the sex in the latter! One scene in the former was perhaps a bit unbelievable (a 20 year old goes from being a virgin to doing anal without lube the first time...). I always thought that women couldn't really capture the essence of male homosexual sex, but these 2 writers have really changed my mind in that respect.
