Hiya, all.
So I had seen your upcoming "Locker 104" challenege and felt inspired to write a quick short story, to break the occasional writers block and get back into the swing of things. Had two ideas and partly got both of them started when disaster struck. My windows laptop tried to eat itself. The memory system was painfully slow, the windows operating system simply was digesting parts of itself. In short, my computer was done for. I feared that all my stories would languish in the land of never finishing. And I'm a bit slow getting them out as it is lately.
So, i had to start from scratch, loading Linux and blanking my hard drive. It was a confusing, weird process, but i am now back online, still discovering what this version of computing is capable of and adapting my methods. But nearly four weeks passed in that time, and the period for submissions came and went. I'm not complaining. I didn't complete the entry for the competetion, I barely am a week into having my computer back. But it was that competition that got me motivated to get my computer back and start writing again. In the end, it is what put the quill back in my hand.
I will be trying to finish out my stories. It may take a minute, but i'm back into the saddle, as they say. Time to ride.
